When Ron White returned from his deployment to Afghanistan, he wanted to harness his memory in a way that honored those that paid the ultimate sacrifice. He created a traveling wall where he’s memorized the rank, first, and last name of the over 2,400 of the fallen. That’s over 7,000 words. His mission is to make sure that each family knows their loved one’s service and sacrifice is not forgotten.
Families across the country are now sharing their stories and this book will highlight several of those from the infantry soldier, pilot, Marine, and those in special operations. You’ll see how this generation rose up after 9/11 to defend their country and how these courageous Gold Star families continue to make sure the average American citizen understands the cost of their freedom.
“I want to point to any name on the wall and say, ‘You are not forgotten.'” – Ron White
